My good friend and mentor Ginny Stoffel was inaugurated as the President of the American Occupational Therapy Association at our annual conference this past weekend. Ginny's inaugural address was a a beautiful call to action for all occupational therapists. Ginny challenged us take care of ourselves and the people we care about, to practice with respect and honor for those we serve, and to lead the profession into its second one-hundred years with "Heartfelt Leadership and Compassionate Care." It is a great time to be an occupational therapist! I am very proud of you Ginny!

Occupational therapists prevent illness, remediate disability, and restore health by enabling participation in meaningful occupations (activities of daily living, work, & leisure).
This blog contains examples of how I participate in the profession of occupational therapy.
